Types and sections of industry

The industry has undergone many changes, in line with the developments in human life, and has gone through many stages affected by the growth of societies and their prosperity and economic changes, and as time passed and life went to the better, the more diversified and developed sections of industry.

Industrial divisions

There are different sections of industries in the mean time, which are:

  • The primitive industries are the handicrafts that do not depend on any of the driving forces or machinery, but rely on local raw materials and the acquired skills, which have been practiced by humans since ancient times, and are still in some regions of the world, such as South America. Examples of these industries are: Dipping the skins, keeping the meat in a drying way.

  • Simple industries: industries that do not change much from the original image, as they depend on local materials, and do not need large capital, for example: the preservation of fruits and vegetables, wood cutting, and trimming.

  • Modern industries: They are industries that rely on large capital, raw materials, manpower, and precise technical expertise.

  • Extractive industries: industries that depend on natural resources that are not compensated, such as cement industry, phosphate, and others.

  • Manufacturing industries: are industries that rely on converting semi-canned materials into fully manufactured goods, such as converting some vegetables into canned foods.

What are manufacturing industries?

Some experts believe that in our time, industry is divided into two basic types, the extractive industry and the manufacturing industry, because of their strategic importance, and manufacturing is of the greatest importance. It is the industry that is keen to respond to all human needs that are increasing over time by providing consumer or secondary goods that are used as raw materials in manufacturing. Manufacturing is defined as mechanical conversion of inorganic or organic materials to access new materials through the use of manual or automatic means, applied in homes or factories.

Types of manufacturing industries:

Manufacturing industries include many industrial sectors. The most important industries are textiles, clothing, plastics, chemicals, electronics, paper, wood, oil and the food industry.

The manufacturing industries are divided into many sectors, each of which operates in a specific field. Examples of the most important types of manufacturing industries include the food industry, the textile industry, clothing, paper, wood, petroleum materials, chemicals, plastics, metallurgy and the electronics industry : Computer Hardware, Machinery, and Electrical Appliance Industry.
